The Celtics are a 4.5-point favorite (-180) to beat the Thunder on FanDuel.
The first time the Celtics and Thunder faced each other this season, Oklahoma City won 105-92. Boston has the sixth-highest 3-point percentage in the league this season at 37.1%. Against the Thunder it shot 9-of-46 from three, or 19.6%. That’s the lowest 3-point percentage the Celtics have shot in any game this season. The 92 points they scored was also their fewest of the season.
MVP-favorite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been on a tear in the month of March. The NBA’s leading scorer is averaging 37.6 points over the last five games, shooting 54.2% from the field, 43.2% from three and 97.7% from the line in that span. He scored 33 points in January against Boston, and averages 34.3 points in his last four games against the Celtics.
Boston could be without a couple key players for the matchup. Jayson Tatum has been listed as questionable with “right knee tendinopathy” according to the team. Tatum has stepped up in Boston’s two recent games against top NBA teams. He had 40 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers. He also had 46 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists on Feb. 28 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Kristaps Porzingis is doubtful with a non-COVID illness, which has kept him out of the past six games.
