Is a Tee Higgins trade possible? Bengals want a crazy haul, and no long-term extension is…

The Cincinnati Bengals have had an underwhelming start to NFL free agency, to say the least.

Arguably the biggest issue is refusing to give Defensive Player of the Year candidate Trey Hendrickson a long-term extension, as it looks like they may just trade him or let him leave in free agency next year.

Elsewhere, Tee Higgins was recently hit with the franchise tag, and it’s getting harder to see a long-term extension being hammered out with him, despite the franchise’s public comments that they want to get it done.

Does that mean the Bengals could trade Higgins?

Unlikely, as the team reportedly is asking for a major haul in a possible trade for Higgins, according to NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe, who said there is “nothing imminent” on a long-term deal.

“The asking price for Tee Higgins is quote ‘Crazy’ from one person very high (up), and so this definitely seems like a situation where the Bengals are not in a position now with their asking price to trade him.”

For what it’s worth, Wolfe did say he believes the Bengals will eventually get a deal done with Chase, but it’s also not imminent.

“Everybody I talk to believes that deal will get done,” said Wolfe.

A look at where Bengals stand with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson including a very high asking price for teams calling to trade for the latter two.
