West Ham Transfer News: Hammers Offered Championship Ace

West Ham have been offered the chance to sign one of the Championship’s brightest young talents.

For most of the season, the Hammers have been linked with Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.

However, it is another highly rated Sunderland youngster, 17-year-old Chris Rigg, who is now understood to be available at the end of the season.

Claret & Hugh have spoken to a transfer insider who revealed that West Ham have been given the opportunity to sign him.

“A lot of big clubs are chasing this kid—Chelsea and Man United are both interested,” C&H were told.

“His family don’t want him going to a big club just to play in the reserves. He’s made 30 appearances this season and wants to continue his development. West Ham have been offered the player—it’s just up to them now.”

Rigg, along with Bellingham, has been outstanding for Sunderland this season, with the North East club sitting comfortably in the Championship play-off spots. No doubt the Black Cats will fight to keep both players at the Stadium of Light if they secure Premier League promotion.

But the talented duo are clearly on the rise, and if the Hammers want to get ahead of the competition, they’ll have to act fast.
