Liverpool’s Champions League dream is dead — but Arne Slot isn’t holding back. The Dutchman has fired shots at UEFA’s ‘pointless’ group stage system.

Slot also acknowledges the fact that PSG are having a great season under Luis Enrique in the French League. So, Liverpool found a difficult opposition in the round of 16. And that is very much clear by the scoreline after the two legs.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot doesn’t want to focus more on the league phase in the Champions League from the next season onwards. Slot is very disappointed as despite finishing first in the Champions League table they got an opponent like this.

After the game Arne Slot said,
“I am feeling disappointed about being knocked out. I do feel in the end of the season, it does matter how we presented ourselves in Europe, I just said, we were not in the Champions League last season and this season we really showed ourselves. We can be proud of what we did. “
The Dutch manager continued,
“It is something now to take into consideration about how much worth it is to end up first in the league table if you can face Paris Saint-Germain in the next round.
It is what it is. Maybe I am [speaking] too soon now but maybe it would be fairer that after the round in between, the one that wins the league table plays against the team that is the lowest position after the teams have played.”
The Reds were on the way to win the treble in the season. However, that desire is now gone. Because they are now out of the Champions League. However, the men of Arne Slot men will easily win the Premier League.
