Aaron Rodgers ‘Intrigued’ by Idea of Playing for NFC Contender: Report

The Minnesota Vikings saw Sam Darnold leave town to sign with the Seattle Seahawks shortly after the legal tampering window opened to begin NFL free agency. That has left fans wondering what direction the team will go at the quarterback position.

One option would be to let J.J. McCarthy take over as the starter. He will be the starter at some point, possibly in 2025, but the Vikings could choose to let him sit another year.

Another possible route has been starting to catch fire.

Aaron Rodgers is a free agent and Minnesota has started being connected to him heavily. There seems to be real interest between the two parties.

NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic has issued a new report to update the situation between Rodgers and the Vikings.

She is reporting that Rodgers is "intrigued" about signing with Minnesota.

"Vikings decision-makers are still evaluating their options at quarterback, including the possibility of signing Aaron Rodgers. The four-time MVP is intrigued by the idea of playing in Minnesota. For now, it's a waiting game," she posted on X.

With this report, the possibility of Rodgers following even closer in Brett Favre's footsteps remains a real option for him.

Even Favre himself has suggested that the 41-year-old future Hall of Fame quarterback considers signing with the Vikings.

"By all means sign with the Vikings, they're loaded at pretty much every position," Favre said.

Rodgers is being pursued by at least two other teams. Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants remain in the mix as potential landing spots for him.
