The [Buffalo Bills](https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/) are trading former first-round draft pick Kaiir Elam and a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2025 fifth-round pick and a future seventh, per multiple reports.
Elam started just 12 games in three seasons after the Bills traded up for him in the 2022 NFL Draft. A good chunk of the fan base has long viewed Elam as a draft bust because of his inability to secure a spot in the starting lineup. Rising star Christian Benford was a sixth-round pick by the Bills in the same draft that they selected Elam. Benford has since become one of the starters at the position.
