Vincent Kompany is reportedly impressed by one Manchester United star and Bayern Munich plan to join a summer transfer race for his signature.
Manchester United urgently need to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Currently languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, it’s clear that significant changes are required. Alongside new signings, several departures are also anticipated.
However, over the past decade, United have developed a reputation for poor recruitment decisions, resulting in substantial financial waste.
This will be the first transfer window with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s full team in place, and they face a challenging task in ensuring a more effective approach to recruitment.
Kompany impressed by Dalot as Bayern join transfer race
Bayern Munich may be looking to sign Diogo Dalot in the summer window as Vincent Kompany has reportedly been impressed by the Portuguese defender.
According to TeamTalk, the Bayern boss has been impressed by Dalot’s “consistency and adaptability” – attributes that Real Madrid also admire.
Dalot is an option that Madrid would consider if Trent Alexander Arnold does not end up moving to Spain this summer and the report says that Bayern are considering joining them in a potential transfer race.
With three years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, Dalot would likely commend a significant fee if United were to sell him. Previous reports suggested the club may accept around £50 million.
Dalot receiving unfair criticism at United
Dalot has received a lot of criticism this season for his underwhelming performances at Old Trafford although some of it has been quite unfair.
The defender is playing out of position due to injuries and has played more minutes in all competitions than any other player in the squad.
In fact, Dalot has surpassed 100 appearances for club and country since the beginning of last season, which might be a reason behind his drop-off in form after winning the club’s Player of the Year award last term.

While his performances have been poor, Dalot is one of few players who have refused to hide in the difficult moments at Old Trafford.
Despite that, the reality is that the right-back doesn’t seem to fit into Amorim’s system and is one of few players who could provide a significant transfer fee, which makes it a possibility that he is sold when the summer comes around.
