Stephen Curry’s Final NBA Goal with Warriors Turns Heads

Stephen Curry has accomplished pretty much all you can during his historic career in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors. And despite that, he still has one final goal he's looking to achieve with his longtime team before he decides to call it a career.

Even in his 16th year in the league, Curry has remained as proficient as ever, averaging 24.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game for the Warriors. However, he is beginning to plan for life after the NBA, as he recently became the assistant general manager of the Davidson Wildcats basketball programs.

"The Davidson experience is top notch," Curry said in an official statement. "My journey from when I got to Davidson in 2006 to now demonstrated that I had the opportunity to play basketball at the highest level, got a great education, an amazing network through the Davidson alumni and continue to wave the Davidson flag. I want very talented, high character student athletes to have that same experience."

Retirement isn't fully on Curry's mind just yet, though, as he still feels he has more to do in the NBA before he retires. In fact, according to the man himself, winning a fifth championship with Golden State is the only reason he's still in the league right now.

"Someone asked me this summer, 'What are you still playing for?'" Curry said on 95.7 The Game's "Steiny & Guru." "(Number five), that's literally the only thing you're playing for ... I like where we're at right now. I think we have what it takes to do it. But I'm not fast-forwarding to saying, 'Oh, we're a championship team' right now because we have another level to get to before we get to a playoff-type environment."

The Warriors are in the thick of the playoff race in the Western Conference, as their 37-28 record currently sees them sitting in the No. 6 seed. Golden State will be looking to pick up their sixth straight win when they face off against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.
