Pro Blue Hoops: Hornets’ Moussa Diabate continues to surge

Michigan’s small but mighty alumni contingent in the NBA had yet another great week. Jordan Poole returned from injury, while others continued to show off their scoring prowess. Let’s dive right in to this week’s edition of Pro Blue.

### **Moussa Diabate thrives as a starter**

Diabate’s young NBA career has been all over the place. He’s gone from two-way contracts, to occasional spot starts, to a signed multi-year contract. However, it hasn’t exactly been a straight line for him. Over the last week, here’s the amount of minutes he’s received for the Hornets: 2, 12, 11, 37, 9.

In that 37-minute game, Diabate rewarded the coaching staff for their faith in him by racking up a double-double with 16 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and a steal. It was his seventh double-double of the year, which is wild considering he only averages 5.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Even more shocking was that 10 of his 15 rebounds were of the offensive variety. Diabate has turned into a monster on the glass.

### **Jordan Poole returns from injury with a bang**

Poole sustained an elbow injury in late February that caused him to miss three games. He returned to action on Saturday night in Toronto to the tune of 34 points, five assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block. Not a bad night, especially considering the Wizards won just their 13th game of the season.

He continues to lead the Wizards in most statistical categories, including points, assists and steals. At 21.3 points per game, Poole is currently the 32nd highest scorer in the NBA.

### **Duncan Robinson scores in double-figures for eight straight**

Robinson’s Miami Heat have struggled mightily since the Jimmy Butler trade, and for good reason. However, Robinson himself has been a beneficiary of increased usage.

In the eight Heat games since Feb. 26, Robinson has scored 10 or more points in every single game with a high of 24. Over that span, he has shot nearly 44 percent from deep and has made at least two three-pointers in each game. Say what you will, but Robinson knows his role.
