Titans Trade $15.5 Million Starter to Cowboys: Report

Mike Borgonzi has been wheeling and dealing in his first offseason as the general manager for the Tennessee Titans. The longtime Kansas City Chiefs executive has been surprisingly aggressive in rebuilding a Titans roster that is in desperate need of major changes.

While he's only made one splash signing thus far with offensive tackle Dan Moore, Borgonzi has been adding new blood to the team frequently since the legal tampering period began on Monday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport then reported on Wednesday afternoon that the Titans were sending starting linebacker Kenneth Murray and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.

Murray played and started in 14 contests last year for the Titans and played over 90% of the team's defensive snaps. His stats were impressive as he collected 95 tackles, including eight for a loss, as well as 3.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. However, Murray's stats were a bit deceptive and he struggled in pass coverage all year.

His tenure with the Titans was short-lived, which is okay because Borgonzi and the new regime are not messing around at all this offseason and refuse to keep dead weight. This trade will free up $7.6 million in cap space according to John Glennon, which is more than enough to add another quality starter.
