Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys suffered through a tough 2024 season that saw them miss the playoffs with a 7-10 record.
Entering the offseason, the Cowboys had quite a few needs to address. There is also a contract extension needed with superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons coming up.
Ahead of free agency, there were no indications about what Dallas would do.
Shortly after losing pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence to the Seattle Seahawks in free agency, the Cowboys worked out an intriguing trade with the Tennessee Titans.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport has reported that Dallas is acquiring linebacker Kenneth Murray from the Titans and that the two teams will be swapping late-round picks as well.

Earlier in the offseason, Bleacher Report had suggested that Murray could be a potential cap cut. His future with Tennessee looked murky at best.
"Murray was ranked 80th out of the 83 linebackers that PFF graded last season. There are generally effective linebackers who are usually available in the later waves of free agency for much cheaper than it would cost to pay Murray in the second year of his contract," they wrote.
While his Pro Football Focus grade was not good, the Cowboys need help at the linebacker position.
Murray ended up playing in 14 games for the Titans in 2024. He racked up 95 total tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, an interception, and two defended passes.
At 26 years old, he will have a chance to become an impact player in Dallas.
According to Spotrac, Murray will have one more year left on his deal with a base salary of $5.99 million.
