Lakers Make Major Decision on LeBron James Following Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers made a major decision on superstar LeBron James, deciding on Wednesday to send him back to L.A. for medical treatment. The news means that James will undoubtedly miss the remainder of the team's road trip.

Shams Charania of ESPN first reported the news on March 12 via a post to social media.

"Lakers' LeBron James has returned to Los Angeles, per medical recommendation, as he continues to progress well from a groin strain with the team finishing road trip Thursday in Milwaukee and Friday in Denver, league sources tell ESPN," Charania wrote on X.

James suffered the injury against the Boston Celtics amid a fourth-quarter comeback two games ago. He left in the final stanza, sat out the remainder of the contest and Los Angeles lost at TD Garden.

He then missed the following contest against the Brooklyn Nets. The Lakers lost narrowly, which brought the team's current losing streak to two games. Los Angeles had won eight in a row and was 9-2 since trading for Luka Doncic before James' exit and the subsequent defeat in Boston.

The groin injury is expected to sideline James for up to two weeks. He will now certainly sit out against playoff teams and potential NBA Championship contenders in the Bucks and Nuggets.
