Former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been spotted and photographed on a beach sporting a blanket and wearing headphones. He is apparently in deep contemplation as to where or if he wants to resume his career, according to the Daily Mail.
Rodgers is said to be deciding on where, or if, he wants to play next. The three teams in the mix are the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings. The Cleveland Browns have an outside chance at Rodgers, but they are a distant fourth.
Rodgers could also decide to hang up his cleats and prepare for his Pro Football Hall of Fame speech.
Rodgers is the lynch pin for three franchises signing a veteran signal caller. Rodgers and veteran Russell Wilson are the two top tier free agent quarterbacks on the move. Wilson has already started to set up meetings, while Rodgers is enjoying his solitude on the beach at an undisclosed location.
One of the losers in this is Vikings first-round draft choice J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy has to wait before Rodgers and Wilson to pick their destination before he realizes if he is the starter in waiting for the 2025 season.
McCarthy already dodged two bullets when former Vikings quarterbacks Sam Darnold (Seattle) and Daniel Jones (Indianapolis) signed elsewhere.

Rodgers met with the New York Jets brass shortly after new coach Aaron Glenn was hired and was informed he would be released on Wednesday, once the new league year started. He was free at that point to find himself a new team and work on resuming his career.
He apparently is taking his time, thinking through all of his options and will allow time to tell where his next move will be, whether it be the NFL or Canton.
