Steelers Insider’s Bold Russell Wilson Accusation Amid Rumored Meeting With Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a tough spot at the quarterback position. As they await Aaron Rodgers' decision on where he wants to play, Russell Wilson is taking meetings elsewhere.

Should the Steelers miss on Rodgers, Wilson would be the best remaining option.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter has reported that Wilson is set to meet with two teams in the near future. He will visit with both the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.

Schefter was far from the only insider to share that Wilson was going to visit with those two teams. In fact, there were so many reports in such a close time period that it drew the skepticism of Mark Kaboly, a writer covering the Steelers.

Kaboly took to X to share his thoughts on the matter.

"7 people citing 'sources' at same time say Russell Wilson will travel to Clev and NYG for visits. Somebody wants that news out there," Kaboly posted.

This information leaking so aggressively could cause teams to get into a bidding war and up their offers.

Wilson is arguably the best quarterback left available this offseason outside of Rodgers. Both players have been in consideration for the Giants.

ESPN analyst Louis Riddick spoke out on Wednesday on "Get Up" about the Pittsburgh quarterback situation. He thinks that the Steelers have to upgrade from Wilson to Rodgers.

"To run it back with Russ, it's just not good enough. They need to level up," Riddick stated.

Wilson threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions during the 2024 season, completing 63.7 percent of his passes. He also chipped in 155 yards and two scores on the ground.
