NFL World Reacts to Rams Releasing Cooper Kupp

All good things must end, which was the hard lesson that Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp officially learned on Wednesday.

The Super Bowl LVI MVP was officially released by the team after eight tremendous years with the team, during which time he established himself as one of the best players in the league. The former third-round pick out of Eastern Washington racked up an astounding 634 catches for 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns, en route to becoming a fan favorite.

Following the news that he was officially being released, fans of the team took it pretty hard.

"Whoever gets him is lucky," wrote one user.

"He will go hard during the off season and have a great comeback year," predicted another.

"This feels wrong, man," wrote another.

"Dang....didn't see that coming," commented a fourth.

Kupp is expected to command a market with teams always needing veteran pass catchers. By releasing Kupp, ESPN reported that the Rams will take on dead cap hits of $14.78 million in 2025 and $7.48 million in 2026.

However, the move does save them a whopping $15 million in cap space next season.

If Kupp can stay healthy, he can easily continue to be one of the better pass catchers in the league. As for the Rams, they took a flyer on former Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets wide receiver, Davante Adams.
