Lakers Announce Luka Doncic Injury News Before Bucks Game

Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a 111-108 loss on Monday night against the 11th-seeded Brooklyn Nets on the road in the Barclays Center. Without several key rotational players (including 21-time All-Star LeBron James) for the matchup, Doncic and Austin Reaves were meant to shoulder the scoring load.

Due to some poor shooting from the duo (30.8% from Doncic and 21.4% from Reaves), Gabe Vincent led in scoring for LA with 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting and six three-pointers made.

In a game that Doncic was questionable coming into with back soreness, the five-time First Team All-NBA member faced a lot of attention. On a defensive play midway through the game, Doncic misstepped and rolled his right ankle.

Doncic eventually walked off the ankle issue and continued playing in the game, but he has now landed on the injury report with a new designation seemingly related to that injury scare.

Coming into Thursday night's road game against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Lakers announced that Doncic is questionable due to right ankle soreness.

Although Dorian Finney-Smith is off the injury report after missing the Brooklyn game with ankle soreness, Los Angeles will still be without three starters James (strained left groin), Jaxson Hayes (right knee contusion), and Rui Hachimura (left patellar tendinopathy). If Doncic is forced to sit out, the Lakers will be left with only one healthy starter in Reaves.

The Lakers begin a stretch of six games in eight days Thursday night. The Lakers sit one game back of the Denver Nuggets for the second seed in the Western Conference with 19 games remaining, including four against Denver and the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
