Chiefs Rumor Targets 6-Time Pro Bowl Receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs had two big offensive issues that needed to be solved this offseason, with the offensive line and receiver positions being areas of need.

After Joe Thuney was traded to the Chicago Bears, which left a hole at left tackle, one that the incoming Jaylon Moore is expected to fill, Kingsley Suamataia is thought to fill the guard role, and Trey Smith signed his franchise tag.

Then to the receiver room. DeAndre Hopkins is now with the Baltimore Ravens, Juju Smith-Schuster is a free agent, and Marquise Brown re-signed on a one-year deal to give Patrick Mahomes some familiarity.

According to ESPN, the Chiefs restructured Patrick Mahomes' and Chris Jones' contracts to create $ 49.446 in cap space to help with their offseason plans.

While that move was likely made to ensure the Chiefs' recent signings could all be made official and the franchise kept under the salary cap, there will be some left over. It is here that Kansas City could look to add a veteran receiver, and one name we think is worth discussing is Keenan Allen.

Allen makes sense for the Chiefs, and would continue the tradition of sorts with Kansas City bringing in a veteran stud at the receiver position.

Allen, as part of the Chicago Bears last season, managed 744 yards and seven touchdowns from his 70 receptions. That is nothing to sneeze at.

Plus, he isn't expected to be an expensive acquisition either, and with Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Brown, and Allen, the Chiefs could have a nice quartet for Mahomes to utilize in the passing game.

Of course, this is just a theory, but in Allen, Mahomes could get a very dependable veteran who still has juice in the tank.
