Golden State Warriors fans cannot help but get all excited after learning about Steph Curry's plan for his future with the team.
On Wednesday, Curry declared that he plans to "outplay" his contract with the Warriors. His current deal will end in 2027, but the former back-to-back MVP has made it clear that he has every intention of playing beyond that.
"I know my contract is lined up and I'd like to outplay that, for sure," he said, via 95.7 The Game.
While Curry did not reveal how long he intends to play after his contract ends in two years' time, what is clear is that the four-time NBA champ is not anywhere near ready to hang up his laces anytime soon.
Curry's major career declaration has, unsurprisingly, stirred a lot of excitement for Warriors fans everywhere. At this point, supporters are demanding the same thing from the 11-time All-Star.
"5 more years pls goat," a comment on X read.
"wowwwww he's really saving the next 5 years of our lives," declared a fan.
"5 MORE YEARS," wrote another.
"So about 5 years then," predicted a user.
"You mean he meant 5 years?" asked another.
"2030! Im calling it now!" declared a supporter.
It is important to note that Curry will be 42 in five years. While he has announced his intention to play on beyond 2027, it remains to be seen if he can still make it to 2030.
For now, Curry is focused on the task at hand for the Warriors. They are currently on an eye-opening hot streak after winning five straight games. Curry and Co. are currently sixth in the Western Conference with a 37-28 record and are all of a sudden looking like a serious threat to the title.
