On March 11, 2025, Consul General of China in Johannesburg, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, met with the Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Mr. Dada Morero. Mr. Pan briefed the Executive Mayor on the “Two Sessions” (the Third Session of the 14th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, the Third Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) and reaffirmed China’s resolution to further pursue and advance comprehensive reform, high-quality development and higher-standard opening up, providing the world including South Africa with more developmental opportunities and stable energy.
Mr. Morero commended the achievements of China’s development and expressed willingness to learn more experience from China’s development and governance.
The two sides also exchanged views on sub-national engagement and cooperation between China and South-Africa.
