Minister for Sport Patrick O’Donovan has defended the state’s €10m investment that helped ensure the Pittsburgh Steelers will play the first regular season NFL game in Dublin later this year.
The date of the game and who the Steelers will face in Croke Park have yet to be released but Minister O’Donovan is confident the event will be worth far more to the state than what it puts in, pointing to the Aer Lingus College Classic as an example.
