Awesome Adventure Pakistan
Dubai: Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry is on the verge of a major boom, with projections indicating a revenue of over $4 billion by 2025.
As the country’s tourism infrastructure improves and the market continues to expand, experts anticipate this sector to experience significant growth in the coming years.
According to the latest Statista Travel and Tourism Pakistan report, the travel & tourism market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 6.75% from 2025 to 2029, potentially reaching a market volume of $5.53 billion by 2029. This growth is being fuelled by domestic and international tourists flocking to the country’s rich cultural and natural attractions.
Package holidays
The largest segment of this market is ‘Package Holidays,’ which is expected to reach a volume of $1.92 billion by 2025. The number of users in this segment is predicted to climb to 22.17 million by 2029, driven by increasing interest and convenience in pre-arranged travel packages. Also, the sector is set to see a surge in digital engagement, with 66% of total revenue projected to come from online sales by 2029, Geo TV reported.
Domestic tourism
A key factor contributing to this rise is the flourishing trend of domestic tourism. More Pakistanis are choosing to explore their own country, thanks to better infrastructure, higher disposable incomes, and a growing sense of patriotism and local pride. Social media and online booking platforms have also played a crucial role in making travel planning easier and more accessible.
Flight routes
Macroeconomic factors such as government initiatives, infrastructural development, and enhanced international flight routes are further supporting the growth of Pakistan’s tourism industry. In addition, the country’s improving political stability and better security measures have helped boost confidence among travellers, both local and international, making it an increasingly attractive destination.
With these factors in play, Pakistan’s travel & tourism sector is not just set to thrive — it’s on track to become one of the region’s most exciting markets in the coming years.
