Following a win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, a historic former Kentucky Wildcat went viral. In partnership with Converse, the shoe brand he is signed with and has a signature sneaker with, Gilgeous-Alexander's logo was projected all over the city of Boston following the victory.

Converse's headquarters are in Boston, which makes this the perfect marketing strategy. In fact, one of the logo projections was placed upon the building in which that HQ exists.
The current MVP frontrunner, Gilgeous-Alexander could put himself in rare territory if he wins the award this season. As historic of a program as Kentucky is, that's a rare accomplishment.
This marketing is especially important given the release of his signature shoe, the SHAI 001, which is coming in the fall. Everything is set up for a perfect release, especially if he can win an MVP and take the Thunder to the NBA Finals.
But it's these little marketing campaigns along the way that also make all the difference. This is especially true when it goes viral, which was certainly the case following OKC's win over Boston.
