Danny Welbeck has been one of the many players who left Manchester United and had an extremely successful career in Premier League football.
Welbeck left Manchester United in 2014 after 92 appearances for the Red Devils, which with hindsight in favour, now looks to be a mistake.
The English striker would go on to have an illustrious career in England’s top flight, particularly finding success at Brighton & Hove Albion – where he’s currently thriving.
Sir Alex Ferguson was a fan of the forward, and rightly so. Welbeck would probably start for Manchester United right now considering the lack of goal threat.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, and Danny Welbeck is a classic tale of another ‘one that got away’ for the Red Devils.
However, that doesn’t mean Welbeck isn’t fond of his United memories, in particular some of the players he played alongside.
Danny Welbeck picks his all-time five-a-side team
Along with himself, Danny was tasked by the Premier League to pick his all-time five-a-side team, based on the professional footballers he’s played with over his career. He picked four Manchester United men to build his dream team.
Edwin van der Sar
“I’m going to go Edwin van der Sar“, says Welbeck to begin with. He doesn’t elaborate much more, but the pick speaks for itself.

Rio Ferdinand
“Rio Ferdinand. He was just, like, an amazing defender. He was strong and quick” said Welbeck on his defensive pick.
Again, no disagreements here, Rio is a United legend and undoubtedly one of the best Premier League defenders to ever grace the game.
Paul Scholes
Welbeck continued into midfield: “Paul Scholes“, was his immediate answer.

Scholes is arguably United’s greatest-ever player and is deserving of a place in any side, whether that be five-a-side or a full-scale game.
Wayne Rooney
Then it was time for a striker partner. “Somebody that I really played a lot of games with, had like a really good connection with, I’d go for Wayne Rooney.”
Manchester United’s record goalscorer, Rooney is an obvious choice for anyone who’s ever played alongside him.
Welbeck’s side would certainly take some stopping!
