Report: Kevin Thelwell pushing for one final Everton summer deal with 'brilliant' Celtic player …

Everton are preparing themselves for a big summer in what will be The Friedkins Group’s first summer transfer window.

The January transfer window came and went pretty quickly on Merseyside, with Everton fans being made to wait till the final hours to see any action.

Carlos Alcaraz was signed on an initial loan deal from Flamengo and he could be made a permanent addition this summer.

David Moyes will finally be able to put his own stamp on this squad, which he inherited in January from Sean Dyche.

Everton wanted to sign more players in January, but were hamstrung by their PSR issues from Farhad Moshiri’s time at the club.

However, the Friedkins are already put plans in place for what is set to be a busy summer on Merseyside.

It is Kevin Thelwell who is the one to have shown an interest in the former Tottenham Hotspur defender, however.

With Thelwell departing the club over the coming months, it will be interesting to see whether Everton’s interest in Carter-Vickers will follow him out of the door.

Michael Keane is set to leave Everton as his contract comes to an end at the conclusion of the season.

Although not a regular under Moyes, the 32-year-old did play a considerable role under Dyche when Branthwaite was out through injury.

What Brendan Rodgers has said about selling Cameron Carter-Vickers

The ‘brilliant‘ American defender has been playing his football in Glasgow for almost four years now, having finally found regular action.

Under various managers, the 27-year-old has established himself as a mainstay in the starting XI.

Carter-Vickers has picked up plenty of Champions League experience during his time at Parkhead but is yet to play in the Premier League.

And he is a player who Brendan Rodgers is very much reliant on, with the Celtic boss admitting in January he is not a player they were considering selling.

“I suspect there will be interest in all our players and lots of gossip and speculation going about. But no, I think our idea is to improve our squad,” he said.

“To be honest, I don’t need to say anything. I just relax and work with the players and we want to improve the squad and whatever happens, happens.”
