Wednesday's highly anticipated matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics lived up to the hype with the Thunder securing a victory.
Oklahoma City was able to use their strong first and fourth quarters to take down the defending champions 118-112 behind another incredible performance from their superstar point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Shai led the way for the Thunder as he recorded 34 points, five assists and seven rebounds in Wednesday's victory.
This was another incredible performance by Shai but also one that made NBA history.
With his 34 points and five assists, Shai is now tied for the longest streak of games with 30 or more points and five or more assists against the Celtics in NBA history with five.

Of course, Shai will have to wait until next season to break the record for the longest streak as the Thunder will not play the Celtics again in the regular season, but they could face off against them in the NBA Finals if both teams were to make a playoff run.
This is just another incredible feat for the 26-year-old superstar, who has had a ton of them already this season.
Shai has led the Thunder to the best record in the Western Conference and with Wednesday's victory in Boston, Oklahoma City became the first team in the West to clinch a playoff berth.
Of course, Shai has been a major reason for that as he is averaging 32.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 52.5% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range.
The star guard is also currently one of the frontrunners to win the MVP award this season and he has made a compelling case to win the award for the first time in his career.
While Shai would love to win the MVP award this season, his main goal continues to help the Thunder win a championship and if he can continue to play like he has, they may have a great shot at doing so.
