Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming & Dominican Education Minister Co-attend Coordination Meeting on Schools…

On March 10, H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica,  visited the site of the China-Aid Post-Hurricane Schools Reconstruction Project, undertaken by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). He attended a project coordination meeting alongside Hon. Octavia Alfred, Minister for Education, and Mr. Robert Guiste, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education. Mr. Sun Xinhua, First Secretary at the Chinese Embassy responsible for economic and commercial affairs, was also present.

Ambassador Chu, Minister Alfred, and other officials were briefed by Project Manager Mr. Wang Junyi on the latest progress of the project. They also coordinated on-site solutions for water and electricity supply to certain construction areas. Ambassador Chu underscored that the school reconstruction project is an important pillar of practical cooperation between China and Dominica. He reiterated that China is committed to advancing the project’s high-quality and efficient completion in collaboration with the Dominican side. He further noted that the recent  “Two Sessions” of China sent a positive signal reaffirming China’s commitment to conducting China-Latin America cooperation on the basis of the principles of equality and mutual benefit. He expressed confidence that China-Dominica cooperation would continue to expand to new horizons.  

Minister Alfred emphasized that China does not impose options on other nations but rather shares opportunities in good faith. She expressed Dominica’s gratitude for China’s efforts and reaffirmed the Dominican government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation to ensure the early completion of the project.
