A-listers attract fans to social screening of Uefa match

House music DJ Oscar Mbo and Supersport analyst and retired footballer Teko Modise created a football fan experience watching a match on a big “social screen” made up of cellphones in Hyde Park Corner, Johannesburg, on Tuesday night.

It was arranged with Heineken, the official beer sponsor of the Uefa Champions League, which said many fans watched football matches on their cellphones.

Oscare, whose real name is Mbongeni Ndlovu, and Modise are ambassadors of the campaign, which gives fans an opportunity to  rub shoulders with the stars while enjoying the Champions League game between Barcelona and Benfica.

The _Vuka_ hitmaker told _TshisaLIVE,_ “Some of us come to the shopping mall for therapy and groceries, but to see soccer fans gathered here at the mall next to this big screen is refreshing, and I'm certain the world sees how we love the sport. I'm honoured to be invited to this event.”
