Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Alexander Isak and Liverpool amid what has been dubbed a ‘busy’ summer for the Reds.
It is no longer news that the Swede has emerged as the centre-piece of a potential high-profile battle between Liverpool and Arsenal.
Since joining Newcastle United from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022, Isak has established himself as one of the Premier League’s elite forwards.
The 25-year-old Swedish international has contributed towards 66 goals in his 99 appearances for the Tyneside club, demonstrating remarkable consistency and finishing ability.
This season alone, Isak has registered 22 goals and five assists in 32 appearances across all competitions, cementing his reputation as a world-class striker.
Isak reportedly sees Liverpool as an ideal destination due to their consistent Champions League presence and ability to compete for major trophies.

Newcastle’s chief executive Darren Eales has recently warned potential suitors that the club has no financial need to listen to offers for their prized asset.
In fact, rather than considering a sale, Newcastle are reportedly keen to extend Isak’s contract further.
But now the Italian transfer guru has confirmed that Isak will be a big topic in the coming transfer window.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that although Alexader Isak is a priority target for Arsenal, Liverpool will also be there:
“One target for sure is Alexander Isak, the priority target for Arsenal. But also Liverpool are closely monitoring the situation of Alexander Isak.
“So for sure, Liverpool and Arsenal will be in the mix for the player – and it really depends on Newcastle United.”
“What they want to do in terms of eventual price, if you talk to Newcastle today they insist the player is not for sale and untouchable.”
“But when these clubs will arrive with huge, important proposals, we have to see what numbers they give them.”
“Forget about €60,€70, €80 million.. it must be more than this to convince Newcastle.”
“Arsenal will be there, Liverpool will be there, for Liverpool it will be a busy summer as remember Darwin Nunez is expected to leave the club in the summer… and Isak is one of the names they have in the list.”
A key factor that could influence Isak’s future is Newcastle’s quest for Champions League qualification. If the Magpies fail to secure a place in Europe’s elite competition, retaining their star striker might prove more challenging, especially if he expresses a desire to test himself at the highest level
