‘Long-standing dream’ – 2 teams approach Fulham player after agent opens transfer door

Carlos Vinicius’ contract at Fulham expires at the end of this season and the London club have an option to extend it for another year.

The striker’s agent, Flávio Ribeiro, has said there’s a “real chance” for him to return to Brazil in the summer window.

On Wednesday, journalist Jorge Nicola relayed the agent’s quotes and stated that Fulham have until May 31st to exercise the clause. He also reported that everything indicates they won’t renew the 29-year-old’s contract beyond June.

After the representative opened the door for the transfer, two teams are looking at him. That’s according to Trivela, who state Botafogo and São Paulo could consider signing the Fulham player.

The Brazilian is ‘living his last months of his contract’ with the English club. Trivela have found out that both Botafogo and São Paulo have made approaches.

The two teams would have contacted the player’s camp to find out the conditions needed to sign him for free.

Botafogo are looking at Vinicius as an option to replace Tiquinho Soares, who moved to Santos in January. São Paulo manager Luis Zubeldía has requested an attacker, and this has seen them look at Marco Silva’s frontman.

According to Trivela, Vinicius has been a ‘long-standing dream’ of the Brazilian football since January 2024. Cruzeiro, Atlético-MG, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Bahia have all shown interest in him.

Red Bull Bragantino came close to securing his services in September before Fulham decided to retain him after selling Jay Stansfield to Birmingham City.

Botafogo and São Paulo could try to sign the Brazilian in the next window.
