Arizona Cardinals land unheralded former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker

Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Mykal Walker is heading to the Arizona Cardinals. Walker, who spent the last season with the Washington Commanders, was with the Steelers for their stretch run in the 2023 season.

After the rash of injuries, Walker ended up playing in eight games and starting in five games for the Steelers. He, along with Elandon Roberts, Mark Robinson, and Myles Jack, cobbled together a group of players that were playing only because of the injuries.

The Commanders have played Walker as a special teamer, and he did not start a game with the team. He has played in 17 games, however, and carved out a gameday role for himself.

A year ago, he was sitting on a couch during the season before the Steelers came calling, so Walker revived his career from his stint in Pittsburgh.

Before that, Walker played with the Atlanta Falcons as a starter. Walker was a versatile player coming out of Fresno State. The 27-year-old should slot into the Cardinals rotation and become a key special teamer for them.
