'They make it easy for me': Levi Colwill names two Chelsea stars he loves playing in the same team as

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has named the two teammates he loves playing with because it makes his job much easier.

Levi Colwill, 22, is a product of the Chelsea academy and now a key individual in the first-team squad.

The ball-playing centre-back has been a regular in Enzo Maresca’s side, where he’s encouraged to build out from defence.

Liverpool doubt Chelsea would sell Colwill to them despite interest in signing the Blues central defender. Hopefully, the academy graduate can be a big part of the future at Stamford Bridge.

Levi Colwill claims Chelsea teammates Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer make things easier

Colwill has explained that he enjoys playing with Chelsea stars Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer. A big reason why is they both provide great options in space further up the pitch when he’s passing out from defence.

Colwill said via Chelsea’s YouTube channel: “I think the gaffer (Maresca) knows what sort of player I am, and he puts me in positions where I can shine. I think those passes come off naturally.

“When I’ve got top players, for example, Enzo and Cole, the ones that play in the pockets that understand where the space is, they make it easy for me to find them. I think it’s really down to them boys.”

Fernandez, 24, is a key figure in Chelsea’s side in the central midfield position. The Argentine star averages 77 touches per game (FOTMOB) in the Premier League this season.

Interestingly, Jason Cundy has noticed a change in Fernandez as the Chelsea ace grows into much more of a leader.

As for Palmer, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been carrying this Chelsea team for the past 18 months, which is why his recent drop off in form isn’t too surprising. He’s still central to most things that the Blues do whenever they go forward.

The good news is that Palmer has trained this week ahead of the second leg against Copenhagen in the Conference League last-16.

Enzo Fernandez is stepping up when Chelsea need him

The recent form of Fernandez in the centre of the park must be so pleasing for Maresca.

It’s been a real burden for him to live up to a mammoth £107m price tag, but the Blues midfielder is doing a bit of everything in his game right now.

Fernandez definitely has a fight on his hands to be in Chelsea’s best XI when Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo are both fully fit. However, in this current form, it feels like he’s one of the first names on the team sheet.

It’s been great to see him chipping in as an attacking threat, especially when Palmer is going through a drought in front of goal.
