If he hadn’t already burst onto the scene at Barcelona, it would likely be a case of “remember the name” Lamine Yamal.
The youngster, 17, has incredibly already played 88 times for the first-team and scored 19 goals and it was one of his Champions League strikes in particular this week that had Celtic fans pointing towards their screens.
The Spaniard curled in a stunner vs Benfica to help knock the Portuguese giants out of the competition but supporters of Brendan Rodgers’ side felt they were watching one of their own in action on a replay from earlier this season.
As Yamal cut inside to bend his left-footed effort into the top corner of Anatoliy Trubin’s net, it was uncannily like Nicolas Kuhn’s wonder-strike for Celtic as they saw off RB Leipzig 3-1 earlier in the campaign.

Yamal’s Barcelona strike was eerily similar to Nicolas Kuhn vs RB Leipzig
Kuhn on that night netted twice but his first goal was majestic and Yamal’s was seemingly a carbon copy of the hit from the German international hopeful.
From the shape of his body when he hit the shot from outside the box even to the floating of the ball itself as it looked to be heading wide before swerving into the net, it was eerily similar.
And that might be because Yamal was watching Celtic that night with his side having the evening off before they battered Red Star Belgrade the following night.
Lamine Yamal has Celtic connections already
Yamal has Celtic connections as we at 67 Hail Hail pointed out back in October how an influential family member had been spotted donning club gear.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
The Barcelona superstar’s Dad, Mounir Nasraoui, decided to pose up on his Instagram account donning the full Celtic Origins tracksuit that provided quite the element of surprise for Hoops fans on their social media scrolling.
Yamal is destined to be one of the biggest names in the game down the line and his stats for this season are also relatively similar to Kuhn’s before the playmaker’s drop in form by his own standards.
You can catch Yamal’s goal from around the 1min29sec mark in the above video.
