The Dallas Cowboys lost a key part of their defense on Wednesday. CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys' star wide receiver, also saw his best friend leave for a new team.
DeMarcus Lawrence, the star pass rusher who has been with the team since the 2014 season, decided to leave Dallas to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.
He ended up agreeing to a three-year deal that could be worth up to $42 million. The Seahawks guaranteed him $18 million.
What are the Cowboys losing in Lawrence?
During the 2024 season, he recorded 14 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble in four games. His season was cut short due to suffering a right foot sprain.
Back in 2023 in a full 17-game season, he ended up with 50 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, and six defended passes.
Following Lawrence's decision, it was clear that Lamb was sad to see his friend leave town.
Lamb was on a live stream when the news broke about Lawrence signing with Seattle. It was very clear that he was instantly upset with the news.
"D-Law to the Seahawks. Woah," Lamb said. "He's gone… I gotta hit my mans up."

Lamb recently chose to do the exact opposite of leaving town like Lawrence did. He restructured his contract to save the team $20 million in 2025 cap space. His goal was to help Jerry Jones and company improve the team.
After making the decision to restructure his deal, Lamb revealed his reason for doing so.
"I want to win. It's gonna take more than just myself," he said.
Heading into the 2025 season, Lamb will be playing his first NFL season without his close friend as a teammate.
