A 2-2 draw against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night was enough for Arsenal to secure a 9-3 aggregate victory over Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Gunners took a resounding 7-1 advantage into the second leg at The Emirates, and progress to the quarter-finals to face holders Real Madrid.
The Champions League is Mikel Arteta’s side’s last realistic remaining hope of silverware this season, having fallen 15 points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League.
Arteta will therefore be desperate to see his side win the trophy for the first time ever, but reigning champions Real Madrid will undoubtedly provide a tough test in their quarter-final clash.
Away from the action, it appears that Arsenal are keeping tabs on a Championship goalkeeper.
Just Arsenal claims that the North London outfit are monitoring Burnley ‘keeper James Trafford as they consider possible signings between the sticks.
Trafford, 22, joined the Clarets from Manchester City in 2023 and was relegated with Vincent Kompany’s side last season.
