Darwin Nunez is reportedly likely to leave Liverpool this summer and the club are said to already have a replacement lined up for the Uruguayan striker. Nunez has delighted and frustrated fans during his time at Anfield, but his inconsistency has increased calls for the club to bring in another goalscorer.

He has been in and out of Arne Slot's starting lineup this season, though he has underperformed when given opportunities and has missed notable chances along the way. Although this has not affected the Reds from gaining a significant lead at the top of the league, questions continue to be asked about Nunez and his future at the club.

Fabrizio Romano meanwhile, claims the Uruguayan is 'expected' to leave Anfield once the season ends. Despite his form, he should have no shortage of suitors if Liverpool decide to part ways with him.

Romano adds that Liverpool are in the mix for Arsenal target Alexander Isak as a potential replacement for Nunez - but Newcastle United will require a bid in excess of £67m to even consider parting ways with the Sweden international. "The priority target for Arsenal but also Liverpool are closely monitoring the situation of Alexander Isak," Romano said on his YouTube channel.

"So for sure, Liverpool and Arsenal will be in the mix for the player and it really depends on Newcastle and what they want to do in terms of price for the player. If you talk to Newcastle today, they insist the player is not for sale, the player is untouchable. But when these clubs arrive with important proposals, we have to see what kind of number they will give them. Forget about €70-€80m (£58m-£67m), it must be more than this to convince Newcastle but Arsenal and Liverpool will be there.

"For Liverpool it will be a busy summer. But remember what I told you about Darwin Nunez, he is expected to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window. And Isak is one of the names they have on their list. But for Arsenal, it's an obsession, it's a player they've wanted for a long time, absolutely considered fantastic by Mikel Arteta so it's going to be an interesting one to follow."
