\Joey Bosa vs. Von Miller Adds Major New Wrinkle To Bills Pass Rush

The Buffalo Bills knew they needed a top edge rusher during the offseason. The team finished 18th in the league in sacks recorded last season and were a key part in the loss during the conference title.

Their recent signing should certainly help.

Buffalo agreed to terms on a one-year free agent deal with former Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa. In nine seasons in Los Angeles, Bosa has recorded 72 sacks throughout his career but hasn't put up 10 sacks since 2021.

Injuries have gotten in the way for the former third overall pick. He has dealt with multiple injuries over the last few years and was released in a salary cap move for the Chargers.

In Buffalo, though, Bosa won't be requested to be an every-down player and one of the best players in the league. The Bills don't need that out of him. What they do need is quite simple:

Rush the passer.

If the Bills want to figure out how to get past the Kansas City Chiefs and other contenders in the AFC, having a quality pass rusher who can consistently put up numbers is incredibly important.

Thanks to the team releasing Von Miller, Buffalo had a need at edge rusher. One that Bosa was all too comfortable to fill.

If Bosa can be even close to his peak in Los Angeles, the Bills could be in for another special season on the defensive side of the ball.
