LeBron James has played for three different teams so far in his career, and he has won a championship with each of those franchises. The superstar forward has certainly cemented his status as one of the greatest players to ever step foot on an NBA court.
With that said, however, one of the most interesting conversations surrounding James is which team he should have a statue with. The Cleveland Cavaliers are the easiest choice since James led them to their first-ever title, while the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are tougher calls.
James won two titles with the Heat, but he only played four seasons with the franchise. Meanwhile, in L.A., he has one championship to show, but he's only been with the team for seven years.
Dwyane Wade, however, has a pretty good idea of where to place James' statue. When asked if he thinks James deserves one in Miami, the NBA icon had a different spot in mind: New York.
"He deserves one right here in New York, in front of the NBA offices," Wade declared, per TMZ. "He's one of the GOATs."
To be fair, it's not a bad idea at all considering how impactful LeBron James has been to the growth of the NBA in the past two decades.
There's no denying that James is one of the greatest to ever play the game, and his longevity and sustained dominance make him a truly generational talent.
James is guaranteed to have a statue one way or another once he retires. As for Wade's suggestion, though, it remains to be seen if NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will consider it.
