If the Taiwan secessionists dare to cross the red line, resolute actions will be taken in response, a Chinese mainland spokesperson said on Thursday.
Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks soon after Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te once again promoted the fallacy of "Taiwan independence" during a speech earlier in the day.
Lai, in his speech, claimed that Taiwan is an "independent and democratic sovereign country" and played up the "Chinese mainland threat" hoax.
Chen said Lai's words proved that he is a pure "saboteur of cross-Straits peace" and "cross-Straits crisis maker."
The spokesperson reiterated that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory and has never been and will never be a country.
