Coming off a loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the Spurs looked to exact some revenge. Jeremy Sochan returned after missing their last meeting due to injury. After starting cold and trailing the Mavs 28-20 after the first quarter, the Spurs dropped 44 points in the second to take a two-point lead going into halftime. With the help of good defense and De’Aaron Fox, the Spurs outscored the Mavs 33-25 in the third and successfully kept a good cushion for the fourth. They ultimately won 126-116.
De’Aaron Fox led the way with 32 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds, and a steal. This is the best game D-Fox has played as a Spur so far. Tossing dimes and scoring at will, imagine this squad at full strength next season.
Quick as a Fox! D-Fox runs the fastbreak and finishes with a one-handed finish!
Another Fox fastbreak, another Fox slam! Off the Devin Vassell steal, D-Fox runs step for step and slams it home!
Here’s the rest of D-Fox’s masterclass highlights!
Devin Vassell dropped a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He also dropped six assists, two steals, and a block. Usually playing as a two-way scorer, Dev filled the stat sheet up. Dynamic play will only increase Dev’s full potential for the rest of the season.
Cleanup on aisle 24! Dev puts back the missed shot with the one-handed finish!
Jeremy Sochan dropped 18 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. After missing the previous game vs Dallas, Jeremy did not miss a single beat. Filling lanes, defending multiple players, and being scrappy are Jeremy’s repertoire. His value to this team cannot be understated.
Caught you slipping! Jeremy cuts to the basket while D-Fox fakes the shot, and it results in an east Jeremy slam-dunk!
Keldon Johnson dropped 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. After dropping 28 points in the last game, KJ played a complementary role and brought the energy. Post-ASB KJ is still a sight to behold.
Going downhill! KJ takes Brandon Williams to the hole for the tough finish off the glass!
KJ SLAM! Off the Julian Champagnie steal and D-Fox dime, KJ throws down a BIG BODY slam!
Harrison Barnes dropped 14 points, three rebounds, an assist, and a steal. After leading the team last game with 29 points, HB played his usual savvy veteran role and shot efficiently from the field. Combining his play this season with his off-the-court contributions to the city of San Antonio, Spurs fans should welcome HB here until he retires.
GET UP UNC! HB uses his patience and elevates for a standing dunk!
Stephon Castle dropped eight points, two rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Despite it not being a high-scoring game for Steph, he still provided Spurs fans with this and-one jam!
Julian Champagnie dropped seven points, two rebounds, and two steals. Both of his steals were purely pickpockets. This one resulted in a slam dunk for himself!
This was a great bounce-back win after losing three straight. D-Fox especially has to feel great with a performance like that. It seems no matter what the result each game brings, this team’s chemistry is still glowing. It has the potential to keep winning this team some more games before the season wraps up.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
