Everton and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old Danish centre-back Thomas Kristensen from Serie A club Udinese in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Thomas Kristensen might be set for an adventure in the Premier League in the summer transfer window. Everton and West Ham United are among the prospective suitors vying for the Udinese defender’s signature. However, the two English clubs face stiff competition from AC Milan, Juventus, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest for the Danish centre-back’s signature.
Who is Thomas Kristensen?
Thomas Kristensen has established himself as one of the most underrated defenders in Serie A since joining Udinese from Aarhus GF in a deal worth around €5 million in September 2023. A native of Aarhus, the Dane spent his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the youth division at Aarhus GF.
The 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last 18 months, having been a regular at the back for Udinese. Kristensen has turned out nearly 50 times thus far for the Friuliani while chipping in with one assist.
Meanwhile, Kristensen’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League clubs, in particular, have shown interest in the Danish defender, with Everton and West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Everton’s interest in Thomas Kristensen is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Michael Keane and Jarrad Branthwaite. So, several candidates, including Joel Ordonez, have emerged on Everton’s radar, with Kristensen also a viable target.
As for West Ham United, Jean-Clair Todibo might depart from the London Stadium in the summer transfer window. So, the East London outfit should sign a centre-back in the coming months, with Kristensen being an option worth considering. Udinese’s asking price of €15-20 million makes the 23-year-old Dane an affordable target for Everton and West Ham.
However, the two Premier League clubs face stiff competition from AC Milan, Juventus, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest for the Udinese defender. It will be interesting to see where the €15-20 million-rated defender lands if he leaves the Serie A club in the summer transfer window.
