Rasmus Hojlund is visibly struggling with confidence during his goal drought at Manchester United.
After an exciting debut season at Old Trafford, Rasmus Hojlund’s form has plummeted this season and he now finds himself without a goal in his last 20 matches.
Ruben Amorim has supported Hojlund to overcome his struggles and return to form, but the lack of goals at United is becoming a concern.
Andy Cole offered Hojlund some advice earlier this month, suggesting he spends too much of his time on the pitch trying to battle with defenders.
The Dane now finds his starting spot under threat from exciting young striker Chido Obi. Reports also suggest Ineos will consider selling Hojlund if his form doesn’t improve.

Wayne Rooney defends Rasmus Hojlund
Just a few months ago, Hojlund broke one of Wayne Rooney’s records at Manchester United. His form in Europe has been strong, but he is still struggling in the Premier League.
On the latest episode of The Overlap, United legend Roy Keane began to question Hojlund’s work rate.
“You look at the player, Wayne, and sometimes you have to look in the mirror and go ‘what am I going to do about it, am I going to work a bit harder?” Keane said.

However, Wayne Rooney defended Hojlund based on his time meeting the United striker.
“I’ve met him a few times, Hojlund, and he seems like a real nice hard-working lad so I’d like to think he is doing that,” Rooney said.
“I think he will be doing that, definitely.”
Gary Neville agreed with Rooney’s point and praised Hojlund’s work rate even though his output has been down.

Hojlund showed huge promise last year, but he has been starved of chances in a struggling United side and it has clearly taken a toll on his confidence.
Christian Eriksen defended Hojlund and suggested the entire squad need to be scoring more goals – not just his Danish teammate.
Rooney praised Hojlund’s work rate against Arsenal and believes goals will come off he keeps working hard.
His advice to Hojlund was to simplify his game: “He needs that bit of luck as well, but once he gets a break then more goals will follow,” Rooney said via ESPN.

“As a striker for Manchester United, when you are not scoring goals, there is a lot of pressure and a lot of people questioning if you can do it for United.
“The best thing for Hojlund to do is simplify it. Making runs into the penalty box is as easy at it comes.”
