Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has offered support to teammate Gabriel Jesus as the Brazilian striker continues his recovery from a knee injury.
The former Manchester City striker gave an insight into his rehabilitation from the season-ending issue after reaching the seven-week stage of his recovery. Jesus has been sidelined after being stretchered off during the FA Cup exit to Manchester United following a collision.
He joined the growing casualty list with Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz out for an extended period. It is hoped that the England international will return to contention after the international break, while Havertz is another that has been sidelined for the remainder of the season after a hamstring problem.
Writing on his various social media platforms, Jesus said: "The first seven weeks of recovery are done. Working hard and improving every day, thanks to God. Step by step! \[prayer hands, bicep, and phone hands emoji\]."
As he steps up his efforts following surgery on the cruciate ligament injury, he received support from his followers and among those was Timber. The Holland defender wrote: "Too strong \[red heart emoji."
The video starts with the incident during their exit to United and documents the work he has done at home to start building up his strength and mobility. Jesus can be seen being looked after by his partner as well as getting support from his daughter.
Jesus can be seen treating his knee on the sofa with the help of an Arsenal physio. He is also captured on a treadmill walking as well as carefully moving in the swimming pool.
Pictures in the short montage show Jesus in a hospital bed after his procedure. He can also be seen cautiously using an exercise bike, stretching out at the Sobha Realty Training Complex, and needing crutches with both hands to walk slowly in the gym.
