The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing back wide receiver Scotty Miller on a one-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Miller was with the Steelers for all of last season and was a carryover from Arthur Smith’s group in Atlanta. He worked primarily on special teams and as a reserve gunner. Miller had just five receptions for 69 yards and was released before their playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. He was later re-signed to the practice squad.
Miller also served as the backup punt returner to Calvin Austin III. The Steelers needed depth at wide receiver since only DK Metcalf, George Pickens, and Calvin Austin III are the key top players, but only Roman Wilson stands there as a depth piece for the Steelers.
Now, Miller does not change draft plans, but at least gives them some veteran depth insurance who they can trust to know the system.
