Former NBA star Peja Stojakovic was in Charlotte, North Carolina this week to watch his college basketball son light it up against his old team. Near the end of the action, he appeared upset with officiating.
Stojakovic was spotted cussing at an official as he watched Cal battle rival Stanford. Andrej Stojakovic is a member of the Bears team after having started his career with the Cardinal.
The younger Stojakovic is just a sophomore, but he’s burst onto the ACC scene in Berkeley this year. In his debut campaign with the Bears, he’s averaged 17.9 points per game on 42.7% shooting. Like his father, he’s an absolute weapon beyond the arc.
Stojakovic transferred from Stanford last offseason. As a freshman, he posted respectable numbers, making 10 starts and scoring at a clip of 7.8 points per game.
He’s taken his play to the next level in Year 2, though, and he saved his best performance for his old team. The guard notched a career-high 37 points on 13-22 shooting. He scored more than half of Cal’s points on the night.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The Bears lost 78-73. Stanford got revenge on the traitorous star.
Peja Stojakovic was unhappy with how the final moments of that contest played out. With Cal trailing by three points late, he was seen cussing at an official from the stands.

The reaction came after a referee called Cal for a moving screen with six seconds left to play. The Bears trailed by one basket. The call effectively ended the game.
Stanford gained possession and made two free throws to put the contest out of reach. Andrej Stojakovic’s season came to an end with a career-night.
