Walsh has been named on the substitutes' bench at Stamford Bridge, with the [Blues](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc) leading 2-1 after last week's win in Denmark, and if he was to come on, he would become the second youngest player in the club's 120-year history, with Ian Hamilton holding that record.

Hamilton, who debuted in the 1960s, was 16 years and 139 days old, while Walsh is 16 years and 144 days old. Walsh and Genesis Antwi, who is 17-years-old, were both added to Chelsea's Conference League squad overnight for the remainder of the knockout phase of the competition.

### Who is Reggie Walsh?

Walsh is a technically gifted midfielder, who has often been used in the No.10 position for the club's academy. He has only played once for the Development Squad in the Premier League 2. That came back in February when the young Blues beat Manchester United 2-0, where he made a 19-minute cameo.

The Chelsea midfielder also represented England at Under-17s level, playing twice for the young Lions in the qualifying phase for the European Championship back in October. Walsh has been used predominantly for Chelsea Under-18s this term and his performances have had senior officials at the club starting to take note.

Walsh is the latest of several youngsters from Chelsea's academy to have been named in the squad for the Conference League this season. Enzo Maresca has used the likes of Tyrique George, Josh Acheampong, Shim Mheuka, Sam Rak-Sakyi, Kiano Dyer, Ato Ampah already this term in Europe, while Richard Olise, Harrison Murray-Campbell, Kaiden Wilson, Harrison McMahon, as well as Antwi and Walsh are also in the provisional squad.
