Mohamed Salah may not join Barcelona despite heavy rumours doing the rounds as the Catalan giants are invested in the future of Lamine Yamal.
According to Give Me Sport, Mohamed Salah may not join Barcelona in the summer in a Bosman move, as the Egyptian international might not be an idea for the Spanish giants. The Catalan giants are heavily invested in the future of Lamine Yamal, which does put an end to reports linking the Egyptian with a move to the La Liga giants.
Mohamed Salah’s future could be the next big subject at Liverpool as there are no indications as to what he might decide. There have been various reports with contrasting stories about the Egyptian forward, who has a few months left on his deal at th Merseyside club.
Liverpool are still optimistic about keeping Salah as well as Virgil van Dijk, but there are no indications whether they have made a genuine contract offer to tempt him over a stay. As things stand, the Egyptian is heading out the door on a free transfer once the season ends, with a host of clubs interested in taking him.
Saudi Arabian clubs have been interested for over two years in the veteran attacker, with suggestions of a lucrative contract being presented already. Mohamed Salah is indeed the most high-profile Muslim player in the world, and for that the Saudi Pro League clubs, especially those owned by the PIF would be willing to make a massive attempt to lure him him.
However, the big question is whether the eight-season Liverpool veteran is open to joining the Saudi Pro League now or is willing to compete at the highest level in one of the top European or English clubs. PSG are interested in signing Salah, as they have the power to make a financial commitment to the player to prise him away.
Barcelona move unlikely for Mohamed Salah
Recent reports have also linked Salah with a move to Barcelona, with suggestions that the Egyptian offered himself to the Catalan giants. While his availability on a free transfer certainly adds to the attraction, the Blaugrana are not considering making an offer given they are heavily invested in the talents of Lamine Yamal.
Yamal, incidentally, was key to Barcelona’s passage to the Champions League quarterfinals, while Mohamed Salah contrastingly did not help Liverpool progress. The Catalan giants are not prepared to put Yamal’s position in jeopardy with the arrival of Salah, meaning they could be out of the race for the eight-season Liverpool veteran.
