WASHINGTON -- George Glass, the Oregon real estate developer tapped by President Donald Trump to be U.S. ambassador to Japan, told Senate lawmakers on Thursday that he will press Tokyo to increase the money spent to help host hosting American troops in the country.
"We've had a consistent support by the Japanese for our military in and around $1.4 billion a year," Glass said at a confirmation hearing held by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
