Pittsburgh Steelers hosting All-Pro fullback for a visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting All-Pro fullback Kyle Juszczyk for a visit at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Thursday, according to multiple reports. Juszczyk was released by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week, and the Steelers are his first known visit.

Juszczyk was a second-team All-Pro this past season, and he is a nine-time Pro Bowler over his time with the Baltimore Ravens and 49ers. The former Harvard fullback was a fourth-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Juszczyk has over 2000 receiving yards but just over 200 rushing yards. Still, across his career, he has been the best NFL fullback and scored 24 touchdowns over the last 11 years.

Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith loves using a fullback, but they did not have a true fullback last season. Connor Heyward was put into that role, but Juszczyk could be a significant upgrade at that spot and help open up the run game for the Steelers.

Juszczyk, 34, caught 19 passes for 200 yards last season. His special teams stats are dropping, too, as he only averaged about seven per game in 2024. Either way, the Steelers are trying to help their run game take a step forward, and Juszczyk could be a help to doing that.
