**ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —** The Broncos have retained a veteran linebacker.
Denver re-signed inside linebacker Justin Strnad to a one-year contract, the team announced Thursday.
Strnad started eight games for the Broncos in 2024 and recorded 73 tackles, eight tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, three sacks and three passes defensed.
He made his first start since 2021 in Week 4 of 2024 — as he replaced an injured Alex Singleton — and recorded a sack on the first play from scrimmage.
A fifth-round pick in 2020, Strnad has appeared in 67 games in his NFL career. After missing his rookie year due to injury, he has played in all but one game since the start of the 2021 season.
Strnad played 59 percent of the Broncos' defensive snaps and 43 percent of Denver's special teams snaps in 2024.
