After signing a massive four-year, $211 million deal last July, George has struggled to find his rhythm in Philadelphia, and the team is expected to explore trade options.
George is averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 43.0% from the field and 35.8% from three-point range.
His numbers are a far cry from his All-Star form, and with the Sixers sitting at 22-43, 13th in the Eastern Conference, there’s growing frustration within the organization.
Some Sixers players reportedly wanted George traded at the deadline, but no deal materialized.
The Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors were among the teams interested, but the Warriors ultimately went in a different direction, landing Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat instead.
